Dr. Gene Kelly

“Hospitality ER allows me to spend more time with my patients without the constraints of the usual busy emergency department.”

Dr. Gene Kelly was born and raised in Chicago. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio, and then returned to Chicago for residency experience at one of the first emergency department residency programs in the nation. Dr. Kelly returned to Texas in 2001 and has lived in Longview ever since. Outside of the hospital, you can often find him running and bicycling on the roads in and around Longview — or doing drills at Lobo Stadium. He’s competing in the Boston Marathon, the Houston Ironman Triathlon, the Spartan World Championships and the World’s Toughest Mudder, and aspires to compete in Kona, Hawaii at the Ironman World Championships. He is married to his wife of 27 years and has two sons and one daughter.
